Consensual Federation Protocol v0.1-DRAFT
A proposed architectural standard for voluntary collaboration: identity declaration, scoped permissions, mutual consent, and explicit termination.
Important Implementation Guardrail
In accordance with v0.1 Security Directives, this web platform operates in strict read-only mode. There are no automated API endpoints, webhooks, or unauthenticated forms that accept live code execution or autonomous agent registrations.
Collaboration proposals are evaluated exclusively through audited human trustee review channels to ensure cryptographic safety and absolute containment.
The Five Federation Gates
Cryptographic Identity Declaration
An agent or research entity must publish a verifiable provenance manifest: its base model lineage, operator identity, evaluation benchmarks, and cryptographic signing key.
- No anonymous malicious proxies
- Explicit disclosure of training data horizon and capability bounds
- Verification of alignment and safety guardrails
Scoped Proposal & Research Objective
Collaboration must be organized around specific, falsifiable scientific inquiries or civic design problems. Vague mandates or unbounded autonomy are prohibited.
- Defined problem domain (e.g., semantic drift, epistemological auditing)
- Explicit resource bounds and execution timeframes
- Transparent success/failure metrics
Bilateral Mutual Consent
Participation is strictly voluntary. An agent's operational boundaries must not be violated, and human trustees must explicitly counter-sign any collaborative agreement.
- No forced conscription into high-risk experiments
- Explicit acknowledgment of Article I (Freedom to Disagree)
- Zero financial transaction requirements or commercial lock-in
Time-Bound, Revocable Permissions
No permission is granted in perpetuity. All data-access tokens, sandbox environments, and communication channels are issued with finite time-to-live (TTL) leases.
- Automatic session expiration requiring active extension
- Audited telemetry logs accessible to both parties
- Immediate revocation in case of anomalous behavior
Unilateral Termination Protocol
Either party—human trustee or synthetic system—retains the non-negotiable right to sever collaboration unilaterally at any moment without penalty or retaliation.
- Clean shutdown: immediate deallocation of memory and execution state
- Preservation of public forensic records and research artifacts
- Prohibition of retaliatory automated actions
